Nikah Nama special conditions (column 17)
Column 17 of the Nikah Nama, خصوصی شرائط, is where the couple can write terms they agreed. Many forms say "Nil" here. When something is written, the translation must give it in full. These are the kinds of conditions people commonly add, with simple Urdu and the English a translator would write.
| Topic | As it might be written | In English |
|---|---|---|
| Education | بیوی کو تعلیم جاری رکھنے کی اجازت ہوگی۔ | The wife will be allowed to continue her education. |
| Work | بیوی ملازمت کر سکے گی۔ | The wife may take up employment. |
| Residence | شوہر بیوی کو الگ رہائش فراہم کرے گا۔ | The husband will provide the wife with a separate residence. |
| Allowance | شوہر ماہانہ دس ہزار روپے جیب خرچ دے گا۔ | The husband will pay a monthly personal allowance of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only). |
| Second marriage | شوہر بیوی کی تحریری اجازت کے بغیر دوسری شادی نہیں کرے گا۔ | The husband will not contract another marriage without the wife's written permission. |
| Nothing agreed | کوئی نہیں | None |
The examples are illustrations of style, not recommended terms and not legal advice. Whether a condition can be enforced is a question for a family lawyer in Pakistan.
